Japanese Baseball: Yokohama Bay Stars

Kevin and I went to see a Japanese baseball game today. For those of you who don't know, Japanese professional baseball teams from mainland come to Okinawa in the spring for training. Okinawans don't often get the opportunity to watch games, so while the teams are here for training, they hold practice games. We saw the Yokohama Bay Stars vs. the Nippon Ham Fighters at Ginowan Stadium/Okinawa Convention Center. And yes, if you're wondering why they have odd names, this is because in Japan, baseball teams are named after their sponsors or corporations that own them.

Here are a few photos from the game.

After the game, we came across an auto show (also being held at the Convention Center) and saw this Pikachu car!

You gotta love Japan!

Darn! We really wanted to go to the game. Isn't that car hilarious. Have you flown on the Pokemon plane yet? We flew that from Toyko to Oki and it was so fun!! Well, my older kids thought so :)
